Vyborg Museum of Regional Studies
Welcome to Viborg local museum which is located in the only one medieval castle in Russia!
For more than 700 years the castle has led the town on the Finnish Gulf. Now various exhibitions are opened in the castle. The exhibits let you know the town history and different sides of its citizens' life, the collection of the Second World War period weapon is in the exhibition about Viborg defence, the collection of animals leads you into Carelian fauna, objects given by Viborg customhouse make exhibition about Viborg as a town on the border.
The castle always holds other museum collections, the collection of navy archeology is being formed. The visitors in good shape can climb the watch platform at St-Olaf's Tower at about 50-meters height, where there is a wonderful view over the town, the gulf and the outskirts.
